A Winter Wedding at the Historic Henry Smith House | Picayune, Mississippi

The weather forecast showed 80% - 90% thunderstorms the week leading up to Tori and Shane’s wedding day at the historic Henry Smith House in Picayune, Mississippi. But a little bit of rain had nothing on the amount of love being sent down from the many Angels watching over them that day! One of those Angels was Tori’s father, Marco, he made sure his little girl’s wedding day was absolute perfection. You could feel his presence through out the day, but especially when the heavy rain clouds started to thin and departed just enough for the sun to peak through right as their outdoor ceremony was set to begin!

Tori’s family had a breathtaking painting made by the talented New Orleans’ artist Jan Wilken of Tori in her wedding dress with her father standing behind her. It was so special when Tori surprised Shane with the portrait after their first look. Every time someone mentioned Marco or looked at this beautiful painting, you could feel how deeply cherished he was by everyone that knew him. His legacy will continue to live on through his family. There was not a dry eye at the reception when it was time for the father-daughter dance, and Tori slow danced with her mom and two older brothers. This was just some of the many things I loved about their wedding day.

Tori and Shane’s daughter, Juliette, was a huge part of their big day and she is just the cutest!! One of my favorite moments of the day was during the ceremony when Juliette was walking down the aisle as one of their flower girls, but instead of throwing petals on the pathway like her cousins. She was actually picking the petals back up and putting them in her basket. It was so sweet and had us all with smiles on our faces!! (see photos below)
