Storm + Connor

After months of planning, the day finally arrived Storm and Connor’s wedding and it was spectacular! The day may have started windy, cold—50°—and raining at The Berry Barn in Amite, Louisiana, but it ended partly cloudy with the sun shining every chance it got and that cool, fall weather you can’t get enough of here in the south. The absolute perfect weather for an outdoor wedding! I’m very thankful for the rain we had that morning as it enhanced all the trees to a vibrant green. Storm and her bridesmaids—you may recognize her Matron of Honor as yours truly—got ready in one of the venue’s Villas, a quaint, white and black house just steps from the ceremony and reception location! Many mimosas were passed around and laughs could be heard from outside the suite as the ladies got ready to celebrate the beautiful bride!

Storm and Connor had many Angels watching over them, one of those Angels was Storm’s father, Mark. I believe it was Mark whom made sure his baby girl’s wedding day was perfection, and stopped the rain just in time for everything to get dried up before Storm walked down the aisle. Mary, Storm’s mom, had stud earrings made for her out of the diamonds from the wedding band from Mary’s first marriage to Mark. Sentimental items were placed all over the reception, and with Connor and Storm. Along with the earrings Mary had made, Storm also had her father’s ashes in a skull charm and a charm of pressed flowers in honor of Connor’s grandpa around her bouquet; as well as, a heart shaped, blue piece of fabric from Connor’s grandpa pinned to her dress by her new sister-in-law, Morgan. During family portraits with Connor before the ceremony, his grandmother gifted him a pocket watch from her late husband. Many tears were shed on this day!

Before the ceremony, Storm did a first look with her brother, Taz, and Uncle Keith. You’ll need tissues when you scroll through the images and see Taz’s face when he turns around to see his sister for the first time in her wedding dress! During the reception, Storm got on stage and announced she wanted to dedicate a dance to all the special men in her life that meant so much to her dad. By the time the song ended, there wasn’t a dry eye left in the room. You could feel Mark’s presence in that moment, and the love everyone has for him and his daughter! These are just a few of the many things I love about their wedding day!

As I said earlier I was Storm’s Matron of Honor, but I was actually not the only one in my family that was a part of Storm and Connor’s big day! My husband, Aaron, was a groomsman for Connor, and our kids Avery and Addison were ring bearer and flower girl—although Addison did not attend the wedding due to sensory overload. Avery did absolutely amazing as their ring bearer, he walked down the aisle just as he was suppose to holding a sign that read “Last Chance to Run”. I could not be more proud of my little man!

I want to wish the loving couple a HUGE congratulations again!! I’m so happy for you both!

xoxo!
